Strawberries and Such

Last Wednesday we went with our neighbor-friends The Gunns to Elliott Farms to pick strawberries. The kids had a blast! Although they didn't pick too many, they enjoyed running through the aisles and sampling the berries off the plants. We took a picnic dinner and ate there at the farm. The bugs were bad, but we all had a wonderful time and everyone slept well that night!

Fast forward to Sunday, April 20th...we had polished off the berries that Savannah and I picked on Wednesday, so we made a deal with Savannah that if she made it through the kids service at church on Sunday that we would go back to the "strawberry picking place" on Sunday afternoon. She was a gem in church and was pleased to be able to say the Lord's Prayer with the congregation. Several of friends from church joined us at the farm for strawberry ice cream and picking. I have a feeling we'll be heading back out there late this week for some more!

The pictures of Vince were taken by Robin Cook at Fickling & Company. She works in the office there and enjoys photography on the side. She was able to snap these pictures of Vince while I was visiting with friends there. It's amazing how much he has changed in just 10 weeks.

Happy Tax Day!

Jeff saw this outfit for Vince and had to buy it to celebrate his dad's profession. We look forward to the deduction next year, that's for sure! Vince had his 2 month checkup today and had to get 4 shots and one oral vaccine. He did a great job and didn't cry for too long. Savannah did ask if he was as brave as she was when she got her four shots a few months ago. He is up to 11 lbs now and is 24 inches long-he's grown an average of 2 inches per month since birth. Those footed pajamas that used to swallow him are getting awfully short now!

The picture of the two of them is their Easter picture from Sears. It was difficult getting them both to look at the camera at the same time-this was the best shot we could get before Savannah melted down.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Sky-High Savannah!

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival has come to a close, but the trees were in full bloom at the beginning of the week. G-Mama came to town on Wednesday and we had high hopes of going to the park on Thursday, but it was freezing cold and nasty, so we waited until Sunday (the last day) to go ride the rides. Savannah waited in line to do the "bungee" sort of jump thing. It was a Suped-up trampoline with lots of cords that the worker propelled her into the air with. She liked it the first few times that he did it, then she started crying and wanted to come down. Some of her butterfly face painting came off after that little episode!

We rode the ferris wheel, a few toddler rides, and ate some cotton candy. Savannah napped really well when we came home, so that was very nice. G-Mama traveled back to Charlotte today and we certainly enjoyed her visit while Jeff was in San Antonio at the Final Four.
