Vince Gets Stitches

This post should have actually been before Savannah's birthday post, but that's ok. Last Thursday we took Nay-Nay (Vince's teacher from Martha Bowman) out to lunch since it was her last day at school. We went to Taki, one of those Japanese places with Habachi grills. After we ate, we were hanging out in the lobby while Vince pitched pennies in the fountain. He went running towards Nay-Nay, tripped, and smacked his face on the built-in seats. His top two teeth went through his lower lip and he bled a pretty good bit. I called our doctor friend, Edward, and he suggested going to the emergency room. Vince finally calmed down after Jeff and Nay-Nay got there, but got pretty loud when the doctor wanted to look at his teeth and prep him for stitches.
He ended up with about 5 stitches in his lower mouth area and after a few days the swelling went down and he was out of pain and able to eat much better. This is the picture that Jeff took of us at the hospital.

Savannah Turns SEVEN!

Where did the time go?! It's so hard to believe that I have a seven year old! Last Thursday, February 17th, Savannah celebrated her birthday at school with cupcakes (her official birthday wasn't until Feb 19th). We drove to Charlotte on Friday and we had birthday parties with both sides of the family. One of her gifts from G-Mama was a "Face Painting" set. While we were in Charlotte, she painted Uncle Gary's hand and Uncle John's face. G-Mama painted Savannah's face, and since we have been back, Savannah painted my face. Here are a few pictures of her artistry!

Vince Turns Three!

Vince still loves Thomas the Tank Engine, and he decided that he wanted a Thomas cake again this year for his birthday. Lucky for us, they make these little, teeny ones at Wal-Mart and it's all he really wants! I baked cupcakes and made icing for his birthday party at his Wed/Thurs school and he was excited for that. No real "official" birthday party...we just hung out at home and went to a few innings of a Macon State baseball game since the weather was so beautiful!

It's Only Fair...

I posted a video of Vince earlier this week, so here's one of Savannah at her program at school tonight. Today was my birthday and we had a great celebration! Jeff and the kids gave me a custom made Alpaca hat, scarf, and gloves as well as an IPOD carrier for when I am walking with friends. Check back on Saturday for pictures of Vince's birthday!

Vince puts on a show

Vince's favorite movie is DUMBO. We had a copy for several years, but it got scratched. This year Santa brought him one and he wouldn't finish opening gifts until after he watched the entire movie. He enjoys watching the Casey Jr videos on Youtube as well as the opening show for Magic Kingdom (which is why he asks where the Walt Disney World steam train is at the end of the video). It's hard to believe that he will be THREE years old next Saturday!

He has made some progress on potty training. In fact, last night he did go on the toilet for the first time. I have been promising him an ice cream once he went on the potty, so today after school we went by DQ and picked him up a vanilla sundae with chocolate on top.

Dauset Trails

We finally had some beautiful weather here in Middle Georgia this past weekend. The kids and I went to Dauset Trails, about 30 minutes north of Macon, to enjoy being outside and have a change of scenery. Here are some pictures that we took. Vince liked the goats and said that the pigs smelled disgusting.
