Just Playing Around

This is our first spring in the new house, and the kids love being outside playing. We have a large side yard where we can play softball and throw the ball for Sammy to chase. We also enjoy hanging out around the koi pond, and the kids especially love the "shed". This house used to be a daylilly farm, so we are excited to see what comes up out of the ground! The beds have been forgotten over the past few years and are pretty overgrown. We have been trying to weed them out and take care of them so that we can enjoy the colors all spring and summer long. Jeff has just finished using a tiller in one of the beds and plans to grow sunflowers, watermelons, and other things.

Jeff's birthday was yesterday and he said the only thing that he wanted was for us to bake him a cake. Vince helped me with the cake, and Savannah helped me with the icing. And I wish I could blame one of them for the writing on the cake, but that's all my doing...

Spring Break Travels

We have just returned to Macon from 10 days of Spring Break. The kids and I drove to Charlotte and we stayed at Jewell's house, then they drove me to the Charlotte airport on Friday morning so that I could meet Jeff in Atlanta to fly out to Las Vegas. The kids stayed with G-Mama and had a great time with Easter festivities and hanging out with Wilson and Robert. G-Mama and Nana met up on Tuesday and the kids enjoyed a couple of days with Nana and Grandaddy. Savannah went to Latta Plantation Park for a couple of programs and she really enjoyed those! Vince just wanted to hang out with his Nana at work :-)
This was the best picture I could get with the kids and the Easter bunnies. Both of the kids are certainly getting tall!
Savannah's new appliance to help her stop sucking her thumb.
Vince enjoying a little creek walk.
 ALL ABOARD!
 The kids at Tweetsie Railroad

The "Ropes" park at Beech Mountain
I returned to Charlotte on Wednesday and we picked the kids up on Thursday to head to Boone. We bought Tweetsie Railroad Season Passes again this year, and we spent most of the day Friday there. It just happened to be opening day. The kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement to be there! We hit a couple of really neat parks up there and enjoyed spending time at the cabin. We came back to Macon today, and had a great trip back. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
