Merry Christmas!

Savannah's last day of school was Tuesday, December 14th. We surprised the kids with a weeklong trip to Disney World and left after school that day.
The first day we visited Animal Kingdom. When Jeff and Savannah were "pin trading" with a cast member, he asked Savannah if she wanted to ride in the afternoon parade. She said "yes", so she and Jeff rode in Minnie Mouse's float processional. Although she doesn't look excited in this picture, she had a blast!

So much to be thankful for...

We are very blessed to have wonderful family and friends! We headed to North Carolina the Friday before Thanksgiving and spent 4 days in Boone, NC with G-Mama. The kids had a wonderful time reading books, playing outside, doing a little bit of work, and clowning around. We had hoped to go snow tubing again this year, but it was just too warm for them to make any snow. We did have wonderful weather...lots of sun and very few clouds. On the way to Nana and Grandaddy's house, we stopped off at the Lazy Five Ranch in Mooresville, NC. Vince wasn't too sure about it, his favorite part was being on the "wagon train". Savannah enjoyed feeding all of the animals and wanted to stay for another ride.
Aunt Crissy, Gabby, and Eli came over for dinner both nights and we enjoyed great food from Nana. Savannah told her that her food was "much better than Mom's".

Wednesday night we loaded up and drove to Charlotte and spent Thanksgiving weekend with G-Mama, Uncle Gary, and Lin, and Wilson. Gary and Lin recently bought a house so we were able to go visit them and see their new place. It's a great setup and they will have lots of room! Savannah and Vince loved their upstairs playroom the best.

Saturday morning we came back to Macon so that we could get settled back in before they started back to school today. I hope everyone had a restful and peaceful Thanksgiving!

Snaggle Toothed...AGAIN!

Yes, in a matter of 10 days, Savannah lost her two front teeth. I pulled the other top tooth about 10 days ago, but didn't get a chance to update the blog with a picture of that. SO, here's the new picture of her...

Snaggle-Toothed Again!

Savannah's top tooth has been loose for weeks now, but just not enough to pull. She even went to see Mrs. Ellard, her kindergarten teacher from last year, to see if she could pull it! She has been biting into apples and trying to get it out. She loves for the tooth fairy to bring money to her! Finally, this morning I felt it, and it was disgustingly loose. The thought of her wiggling it all day made me decide to yank on it a little bit. Just in the nick of time we got it out, took a quick picture, then rushed to school. Vincey didn't even make it out of his pajamas for the ride!

Trick or Treat!

The kids had a blast today at Fall Festivals and Trick or Treating in the neighborhood and with other friends. Here are a few of the highlights!

Northminster Pre-School Halloween Parade

Vince was excited to have his parade and party this morning at school. Last night he wanted to put on his Thomas the Tank Engine costume and get in the car and go to "church school" to see Mrs. Donna. We were finally able to convince him that he needed to go to sleep and when he woke up, he could get dressed for the party.
Yesterday at school he fell into a table and got a nice little shiner! In some of these pictures the swelling is more evident than others. He's been a good sport about it and just seems to roll with it. It certainly doesn't slow him down any, that's for sure.

And We Have A Winner...

That's right, SAVANNAH STEWART! Many of you purchased items from Savannah earlier in the school year for her school fundraiser, and she was the TOP SELLER in the entire school. She sold 95 items and earned a "playmat" piano. She and Vince love to play on it, she is also excited that an IPOD can be attached to it and she can listen to music from the speaker on the piano. Those students who sold over 50 items each had their names put in a drawing for a free stunt bicycle too. The drawing was today at the BMX bike show, and Savannah's name was drawn! I was at Vince's Halloween parade, but friends told me that she was so excited to win and was doing fist pumps in the air and everything. Now, we just have to teach her how to ride a bike!

Fall Festival at Sonny Carter

Last night, we had Fall Festival at Savannah's school. I was the chairperson of the event, so my homemaker duties were sparse for the past two weeks! We had beautiful weather and the kids seemed to have a wonderful time. Savannah's favorite booth was the Crazy Hair. See below.

Elliott Farms

Savannah was out of school today for Columbus Day, so we went with the Goodmans to Elliott Farms to enjoy a hayride, the corn maze, and playing on the tractors. Vince was in heaven with all of the different tractors to climb on! The corn maze was a nightmare since each opportunity to turn we let the kids decide. Needless to say, we went around in several circles and ended up cutting through the corn to daylight and heading back to the farm...as if we made it through!

The Georgia National Fair in Perry

Last Thursday we went to opening day at the fair! The kids had a blast and rode all sorts of rides. Vince enjoyed hanging out with "nay-nay" (his in town Grandmother/teacher from school) near the tractors, 4-wheelers, and golf carts. At one point he was on a golf cart and patted the seat and said "nay-nay, hop on up." He loves to pretend to drive vehicles, but as soon as the motor is on, he is off and into someone's arms!

Savannah enjoyed playing with her friends at the fair and riding all of the big rides.

Hats for Hope

Savannah participated in Hats for Hope (sponsored by Jay's Hope) again this year. The kids pay $1 and are able to wear a hat to school. http://www.jayshope.org/ This year, she chose her new cowgirl hat that she will wear for Halloween.
When Jeff was in New Orleans for a conference, I invited a couple of Savannah's friends over to spend the night. She was so excited that Blythe and Anna came to visit and she got to stay up until 9:30pm and watch movies. Vince enjoyed hanging out with the girls, but slept in his own bed. Evidently, I am not the only one that he kicks and prods when he is trying to go to sleep.

Labor Day Weekend at Walt Disney World!

Savannah had Friday and today off of school, so we decided very last minute to head to Orlando. The weather was pretty hot, but we got to the parks early each day and were out by 3pm so the kids could nap or play at the pool, or just rest.

Savannah was chosen to be "chef for the day" and was able to decorate her own Mickey Mouse rice krispy treat at the Confectionary store on Main Street in Magic Kingdom!

Vince loved the Barn Stormer in the Magic Kingdom and wanted to ride all of the roller coasters. Savannah's favorite ride was: Big Thunder Mountain, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. We asked her, and she said "they all tied as her favorite."

We saw several characters and tried to get our pictures made with them too. I couldn't believe how humid it was in the parks! The last few times we have been has been in February and it's been quite pleasant.
Jeff started a pin collection for Savannah this trip. She enjoyed meeting different "cast members" and trading pins with them.

We have a busy few weekends ahead: the kids get to be in Tuscaloosa for a football game and a trip to Charlotte, then back until Thanksgiving (we think!).

First Day of School for Savannah

Yes, we start back extremely early. Today was her first day of first grade and she was a little nervous about going. Jeff had to wake her up about 7am to get up and ready for the big day. Her teacher is Mrs. DiMicheal and she was so excited to be in her class! As Savannah reviewed her classmates' names on the list she was telling the teacher that "this one is good, she listens all the time and does what you ask immediately. This one is BAD, he kicked my teacher last year in the stomach." Her friend Merritt is in her class again and that especially made her happy. Vincey starts back to his MMO program next week; I will be getting lots of things crossed off my list after next week!

It's Been Awhile...

So sorry for the delay in updating the blog...I apologize to both of our followers :-)

We went to St. Simons Island, GA the last week in June, were back in Macon for two weeks, then headed to Charlotte for a week, and on to Boone, NC to finish out the summer vacation. Now we are back in Macon, at least for the time being! Savannah starts first grade on Tuesday, August 3rd. It's hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end. The weeks that we were in town, Savannah spent her days at Trinity Woods day camp. One week she did go to Mt. DeSales for their SPLASH camp and she loved it. Now she wants to go to school there!

While we were in Charlotte, Savannah participated in Sardis Presbyterian's VBS. She learned all about Joseph, his coat of many colors, and his imprisonment. Jeff was able to come to Charlotte for the weekend and saw her in the Sunday program in "big" church. Nana and Grandaddy also came to church that day to see her performance.
We also did a day trip to Tweetsie to see Dora and Diego, I am very surprised that Vince got on stage to have his picture taken with them.
G-Mama's birthday was on the 21st and we celebrated a couple of times! Uncle Gary, Aunt Lin, Wilson, and Uncle John came over one night and Uncle John couldn't pass up the slip and slide in the backyard. Savannah had a great time with him and learning magic too.

Boone was a nice change of scenery and temperature as well. Aunt Lin and Wilson came up for a few days and we spent the day at Valle Crucis Park creek walking, picnicing, and playing on the playground. Savannah and I went to Tweetsie one day and she was sad to find out that her favorite ride had been struck by lightening and was not operable.
