She Shoots...She Scores!

Savannah's team, the Cougars, played a great game this morning and she scored her first goal! We were so excited that she was in the thick of many of the plays and seemed to enjoy playing. I have put together some video clips of the game today, and I hope you enjoy watching it!

Hats For Hope

Thanks to Evan Jordan for giving Savannah this cool Polar Bear hat!

Savannah and Mister playing soccer
Dad is ready for work!

Today, Savannah paid $1 to participate in a fundraiser for Jay's Hope Foundation, http://www.jayshope.org/and she was able to wear a hat to school. We had some time to play out in the yard before she and Dad left for school, so we used it as a photo opportunity. The black dog in the pictures is "Mister", G-Mama's new dog. She is ready for her soccer game tomorrow!

The Georgia State Fair

The Georgia State Fair rolled into town on Tuesday and will be here through the weekend. The weather has been perfect this week-nice and breezy and very few clouds in the sky. G-Mama, Vince, Savannah, and I went to the fair after school on Wednesday and Savannah had a blast. It was "hand stamp day" which meant that she could ride all the rides that she wanted to for $15. There were plenty of rides that were for smaller kids so we felt like we got our money's worth. Vince enjoyed the fair and people watched from his stroller.
We didn't have a chance to see the livestock, so we may go back down with Jeff later this week. G-Mama is here until Saturday and will get to see Savannah's soccer match on Saturday morning and we are hoping she will score a goal this week! Check back later this weekend for more pictures and possibly some video footage of the soccer match.

Family Visitors

G-Mama has been in Macon for the past week visiting and Honey (AKA Aunt Jean, G-Mama's sister) came up from Orlando to stay as well. Jeff was in Washington, DC for a conference so it was nice for them to be here and help with the kids. Vince was certainly outnumbered for the past few days!

Honey was helping Savannah get ready for bed on Friday night and she told Savannah that she needed to get some good rest so that she could run up and down the field at her game. Savannah was a little puzzled, and said "Honey, we don't have hills on our soccer fields." She re-worded and said "you need to get some rest so that you can run back and forth in your game tomorrow!"

Savannah did much better in her game and actually dribbled the ball down the field and played some defense. We are hopeful that she will score a goal by the end of the season...we have four more games.

Vince is getting ready to crawl! Each day he gets closer and closer to actually attempting to do it-today he was rocking trying to put it all together. I think he wanted to nuzzle up to Buddy or get closer to him so that he could grab Buddy's hair!

Opening Day: Upward Soccer!

What a busy weekend we have had! I was consumed with the MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) Consignment Sale and G-Mama has been Vince and Savannah's caregiver. Last week at practice I was told that Savannah dribbled the ball all the way down the field and scored a goal! I think she was a little overwhelmed at her game, but she did well. She didn't score a goal, but she did run hard and gave a couple of "high fives" to her teammates when they scored goals.

Savannah's next soccer game is on Saturday at 10:30. I hope get some good video footage and post on the blog soon. We need to work the kinks out on the team before we broadcast!

The MOPS Children's Consignment Sale was a huge success-we sold over $92,000 in merchandise! I laughingly told Ani, the committee chairperson, that I look forward to bringing in $100,000 in the Spring.

Vince is doing well-he has 2 teeth on the bottom that are "in", just not all the way up. He can sit up on his own now and has graduated from his infant car carrier seat. I am glad that he can sit up well enough for high chairs in restaurants and grocery store buggies!
