June, Where Have You Gone?

It's hard to believe that the first month of summer vacation is coming to a close. The kids have enjoyed summer day camp at Lakes Park and Bright Beginnings Early School; Savannah attended "sleep-away" camp at Warren Willis Methodist Camp in Fruitland Park, FL, and we spent a few days in Orlando at the Disney Parks. Savannah is preparing for her much anticipated trip to Washington, DC and New York City with G-Mama next week. Vince and I will meet them in North Carolina in the middle of July and spend some time with family and friends up there. School starts back late this year-August 18th. I think it will be here before we know it!

Sweet Summertime!!!

The kids are out of school for the summer and G-Mama surprised the kids last weekend (Memorial Day weekend) and will stay for a little over a week. The last few days of school were "early dismissal" at 1:10, so it was nice that Jewell was here to pick the kids up from the bus stop so that I could stay at work for a few extra hours.
In celebration of the end of the school year, we did a "staycation" to Sanibel Island for a couple of nights. The kids loved being able to participate in the activities at the resort, play in the pool, and build sandcastles on the beach.
This coming week the kids will be in summer day camp at Bright Beginnings, part of Cypress Lake Methodist Church. They had a blast last year, so we are looking forward to some great times there! Jeff has several conferences this summer that he will be attending, but I think they are all in "hot" places, so he won't be able to escape the Florida summer heat. Stayed tuned for pictures throughout the summer months.
