Weekend Fun!

After the Race for the Cure on Saturday, we made a dash home for naps so that the kids would be rested for Evan's birthday party at 2pm. Savannah woke up right before it was time to leave, so we got her dressed and ready for the party. She had a wonderful time hanging out with Evan and three other members of her soccer team. Vince slept most of the time which made it easier for me to spend time with Savannah and the other parents.

This evening we attended the Forest Hills Methodist Church's Trunk-or-Treat. Savannah chose to wear her princess outfit that Honey bought for her. We were able to get some pictures at the pumpkin patch with her and Vince dressed up. He is a puppy dog, but you can't really see the puppy head; I think it looks more like a bonnet.

Since she couldn't be DIEGO for Halloween she carried this basket instead!

We hope to visit a new pumpkin patch later in the week and plan to attend the Martha Bowman Trunk-or-Treat early evening on Friday...she has three different costumes that she wants to wear, so we figured this was the best way for her to model them!

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Our whole family participated in the Race for the Cure yesterday at Wesleyan College. Jeff and Savannah did the Celebration Parade/1 mile walk and Vince and I completed the 5K walk. It was a beautiful day to be outside! Our team, the Pink Ribbon Racers, raised over $5500 for the cause! We look forward to being a part of it next year as well.

50th Day of School!

Savannah's Pre-K class celebrated its 50th day of school today by dressing in 1950s attire. For a snack today they had Coke Floats and she really liked that! Savannah had a great time and it was neat to see her teacher walk her out today-she was wearing her hair in a ponytail and had on bobbie socks and a poodle skirt!

A Special Visit from Nana!

Nana decided on Thursday to come to Macon, and it was a real treat for us all to hang out! She was able to see Savannah's last soccer match of the season. Savannah didn't score a goal this week, but the kids played hard and had a good time. She announced that she wants to take "ballerina" lessons next. Not too sure what I think about that...at least with soccer, I can get out and kick the ball with her and run around. Ballet? Um, no chance of mom being up on the stage doing that.

We also had our church picnic today and Savannah and Vince had a wonderful time hanging out with friends from church. Vince looks like he is on the campaign trail in his cute little outfit. Everyone slept well this afternoon and we prepare for an exciting week. Savannah celebrates 50 days of school tomorrow and will dress in "50s" attire. Check back for pictures of that.

Mid-October Update

Savannah will play her final soccer game of the season tomorrow morning. They received their trophies at practice earlier in the week and she was very excited that it had her name on it and that her trophy had a ponytail. She asked if she could sleep with the light on so that she could look at her trophy all night long.

The month of October is going to be gone before we know it! It seems like we have full weekends from now until Thanksgiving. We'll keep you posted with new pictures and going-ons. Have a wonderful week!

Look Dad, It's Big Ben!

Jeff just returned from London and sent Savannah several postcards with Big Ben. He told her all about the historic buildings. So, when we went to the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA, she saw the clock tower and announced that it was Big Ben! Mom and Savannah clowning around!

Vincey awake...
...Vincey asleep

We had a great time, it was a shortened evening due to rain storms and lightning. Savannah did ride a few rides and we took a few pictures. Vince did great, he people watched, then fell asleep.

I had to include this picture-the prizes here reminded me of the ones that my brother, Gary, and I won at the High Country Fair in Boone. We had so many mirrors that we won-they were Hank Williams Jr, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, and many more. We also won our share of feathered roach clips. I don't think those are prizes any longer at the fairs.

Is It Really Fall?

It's hard to believe that it's October, and the temperature is still in the mid-80s here in Macon! We have been staying busy with church functions, soccer, and school. I have taken a few pictures recently and will include those. I sure hope it starts to feel like fall soon!
