Vince's Six Month Checkup

It's hard to believe that two months have past since our last visit to Dr. Bush. Since his four month check up, Vince has been sleeping through the night...it's amazing what rice cereal and stage 1 and 2 baby food will do to fill a stomach! He is now 26 inches tall and weighs in at a whopping 17 lbs. I get a little frustrated when I dress him; the onesies or footed pajamas are short on him, so he wears a 12 month onesie and a 9 month footed pj. In pants, he has a couple of pairs of 3-6 month that are just about falling off of his waist!

Vince has gotten much better about sitting by himself, he no longer just topples over to the side. I have been warning Savannah to pick up her small toys off the floor so that he can't get to them. I am hopeful that it will sink in soon...right now she enjoys that I clean up after her.

Savannah continues to love school. Jeff takes her in the mornings and he says that she almost hypervenilates when she sees the safety patrol come out to help carpool students!

Have a restful Labor Day!

Happy Birthday Great Grandaddy!

We returned late last night from a weekend trip to North Carolina to celebrate Jeff's grandfather's 85th birthday! It was a wonderful party-Aunt Libby and Jeff, Jr rented the Catawba Queen for a nice cruise on Lake Norman. Savannah and Vince were able to meet lots of family members for the first time! The weather was perfect for the afternoon outing and all of the arrangements were wonderful.

This weekend was the first time that all four Jeffrey Vincent Stewarts have been together, so we had a professional picture taken in Hickory on Saturday. Everyone looks so handsome! The photographer wanted to take some individual pictures of Vince, so I am including one of those-he can actually sit up by himself now! If you squint, you can see a little tooth on the bottom that has pushed through the gum.

Before heading out on the Catawba Queen, Savannah convinced Grandaddy to take her for another spin on the Jet Ski. She loved going fast and was glad to be able to swim in the lake once they finished their ride. Vince hung out in his Johnny Jumper and is getting a nice quad workout.

Laura Ann, Savannah, and Vince...three subjects looking in three different directions!

Vince was asleep before we left the parking lot!

Leigh and Brian Kugler at Seabrook Island, SC at their sunrise service

Icing stains from the groom's cake-this was Saturday night thank goodness!
Jeff wearing one of his new shirts and me sporting a nice sunburn

One of my friends, Leigh, got married at sunrise on August 8th. It was a beautiful wedding! Jeff and I had a great time catching up with Leigh and Brian, their friends, and Rebecca and Neal Anderson, who recently moved from Orlando to Raleigh.

It's hard to believe that Rebecca and I have known Leigh since we were all 6 years old and going to Lansdowne Elementary! Every so often I go through my K-Swiss shoe box and read notes that she and I wrote when were were B/F/Fs (best friends forever) in junior high at McClintock. We went through a lot together-church youth group, choir, softball, basketball, confirmation class at church, sleepovers, etc etc. Congratulations to Leigh and Brian!

Savannah's First Day of School

It's hard to believe that the summer is already over! Here in Georgia, school starts at the beginning of August and is over about mid-May. In February, we submitted Savannah's name for the 4K lottery and she was accepted to attend Sonny Carter Elementary School. The program there is top-notch and we are looking forward to her excelling in her new environment. Believe it or not, I didn't cry when we took her to school today!

The Wrights Visit

Last weekend our friends Ken and Vivian, and their girls, Kate and Kendra, stopped through Macon on their way back home to Tuscaloosa. They were returing from a vacation at St. Simons Island, GA and were all very tan and looked well rested! It was great to catch up with everyone and they had a chance to meet Vince and visit with Savannah for about an hour before getting back on the road. We hope to visit them in T-Town this fall and catch an Alabama game!
G-Mama is coming to visit later this week so that Jeff and I can attend a wedding at Seabrook Island this weekend. We originally planned to take the kids and have G-Mama meet us in Charleston, but Savannah starts 4K on Thursday! Be sure to check back for updates from the first day of "big" school.

Who do the kids favor?

It's funny that when we are with people they say "oh he/she looks soooo much like you" or their eyes are just like yours, or the cheeks, chin, lips, demenor, etc. So, I figured that I would plug a few pictures into www.myheritage.com and see who our kids "really" did favor. I think that depending on what pictures are used, is an indicator on who they look like. Now, since I am the one posting the blog, I used pictures that were closer in resemblance to me! Jeff might take pictures and plug into the website different from the ones that I chose and the statistics be completely different. So, here is the power of the pen...the kids favor me....
